    Welcome to Petverse ("Company", "we", "our", or "us"). These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of our membership services, including our website www.petverse.co.za, the Petverse App, and the Petverse smart pet protection and wellness platform (collectively, the "Platform"). By using our Platform, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately.

    3. User Eligibility

    To use the Petverse services, you must:

    • Be at least 18 years old (or have legal guardian consent if younger).
    • Provide accurate and complete registration information.
    • Use the Platform only for lawful purposes.

    4. Description of Services

    The Petverse Platform provides a comprehensive smart pet protection and wellness membership, including but not limited to:

    • Real-time GPS tracking and location monitoring via the Petverse smart collar device.
    • Pet health and wellness monitoring, including activity tracking, sleep analysis, and calorie estimation.
    • Smart alerts and notifications — geofence boundaries, escape detection, low battery warnings, and health anomaly alerts.
    • Access to the Petverse App with regular feature updates and improvements.
    • An included GPS-enabled smart collar device and built-in SIM connectivity (no separate SIM contract required).
    • Access to member-exclusive partner benefits, discounts, and wellness resources as they become available.
    • Pet health insights, trends, and personalised wellness recommendations generated from collected data.

    5. Account Registration

    To access certain features, you must create an account on our Platform. You are responsible for:

    • Keeping your login credentials secure.
    • Ensuring account details are accurate and up to date.
    • Not sharing your account with others.

    We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

    6. Membership Plans & Payment

    6.1 Membership Commitment

    • All users who sign up for a paid Petverse membership are required to commit to a minimum period of 3 months (90 days).
    • After the initial 90-day period, memberships will continue on a month-to-month basis until cancelled.
    • Early cancellations before the expiry of the 90-day period will not be eligible for refunds.

    6.2 Payment Terms

    • Membership fees are billed in advance, and payment is required for access to premium features, the Petverse App, and the smart collar device.
    • Payments are processed securely via third-party payment providers (e.g., PayFast).
    • If a payment fails, access to the Platform may be restricted until payment is resolved.

    6.3 Auto-Renewal & Cancellation

    • Memberships automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle.
    • You may cancel your membership after the initial 90-day period via your account settings or by emailing support@petverse.co.za.
    • Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing cycle.

    7. Refund Policy

    • No refunds are issued for early cancellation within the 90-day commitment period.
    • Refunds may be considered in cases of billing errors or duplicate charges.
    • If a membership is cancelled within the initial 90-day period, the included smart collar device must be returned to Petverse in working condition. Failure to return the device may result in a device recovery fee.

    8. Acceptable Use Policy

    You agree not to:

    • Use the Platform for illegal, fraudulent, or abusive activities.
    • Attempt to hack, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to our systems.
    • Misuse the services in any way that violates these Terms.

    We reserve the right to terminate access for any violations.

    9. Intellectual Property

    • All content on the Platform, including the Petverse App, branding, technology, wellness data, health insights, and analytics content is owned by Petverse (Pty) Ltd.
    • You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of our Platform without permission.
    • Health and wellness insights generated by the Platform are proprietary and may not be reproduced or redistributed without written consent.

    10. Limitation of Liability

    • Petverse provides its services "as is" without warranties of any kind.
    • We are not liable for any damages, including data loss, service interruptions, or inaccurate pet tracking results.
    • Health Monitoring Disclaimer: The pet health and wellness monitoring features provided through the Petverse membership — including activity tracking, sleep analysis, calorie estimates, and health alerts — are informational only and are not a substitute for professional veterinary care. Petverse does not provide veterinary diagnoses, medical advice, or treatment recommendations. Always consult a qualified veterinarian for your pet's health concerns.

    11. Data Protection & Privacy

    Your use of our services is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, store, and protect your personal data, including pet health and wellness data collected through the smart collar device and Petverse App.

    12. Termination of Services

    • Petverse may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms.
    • Upon termination, access to your data, health insights, and services will be revoked.

    13. Governing Law

    These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Any disputes will be resolved under South African jurisdiction.

    14. Changes to These Terms

    Petverse reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
